Newer Insights into HPV Infection and Pregnancy

Abstract

HPV is highly prevalent in reproductive age group and pregnancy and is of public health interest because of its
unequivocal linkage to lower genital tract infections. Treatment of HPV infection and lesions caused by these
infections has to be taken care after delivery also as these are involved in disease progression and carcinomas. The
safety of available therapies and the risk of vertical and horizontal transmission and the risk of JORRP in neonate
must also betaken into account. Also, the concerns and correct timing for vaccination must be looked into.
